Donald Macleod and Jeremy Summerly explore Victoria's early years, when he cut his musical teeth and studied theology.

Donald Macleod and Jeremy Summerly explore Victoria's early years when, as a chorister at Avila Cathedral, he cut his teeth as a musician, going on to start his theological education at the local Jesuit School which was endorsed by St Teresa of Avila. When his voice broke, Victoria travelled to Rome to enrol as an international boarder at the Jesuit Collegium Germanicum. Thus began a rich and varied career in the city spanning 20 years.

Suzy Klein introduces a concert from the Snape Maltings as part of the 2008 Aldeburgh Festival, featuring the Northern Sinfonia, plus violinists Carolin Widmann and Thomas Zehetmair collaborating as soloist and conductor in the premiere of John Woolrich's Violin Concerto. Surrounding it are works by two composers close to Zehetmair's heart: Schumann and Schubert.
