A See-Saw programme
A series of four programmes featuring people who live and work in the New Forest. 1: Of Horses and Men
Many thousands of people visit the forest each year to walk the forest paths and to admire the trees, heathlands and wildlife. But it is also a place where people live, where artists seek their inspiration and many folk make their living. In this first programme Dennis Skillicorn travels to Sway to meet Ron Ings , who makes his living breaking in horses for the ever-increasing band of riders and carriage drivers. At Bramshaw he visits the local blacksmith Roger Skinner , and at Ringwood farmer Tom Samson shows him his old traditional farm machinery and his team of heavy horses. For Tom, 'life wouldn't be worth living without them'.

from Oystermouth
Oystermouth is the heart of Mumbles, just four miles along the promenade from Swansea, within easy reach of the industrial belt of South Wales. It's surrounded by peaceful, sandy coves tucked beneath spectacular cliffs; a haven for the men who work in the mines and steel works, and their families.
Tonight John Stuart Roberts takes a trip into history to look for the remains of the Mumbles Railway, the oldest passenger-carrying railway in the world, and talks to local people, including Mrs Elsie Noel who lost three of her family in the lifeboat disaster of 1947. A new window has been dedicated to the men of the lifeboat in All Saints Church, Oystermouth, where local Christians join to sing their songs of praise.
Come, rejoice before your Maker (Abbot's Leigh); Sent forth by God's blessfng (The Ash Grove); Eternal Father. strong to save (Melita); The Gospel train; Take my life. and let it be (Stuttgart); Glory be to Jesus (Caswall); All my hope on God Is founded (Michael); Praise the Lord, his glories show (Llanfair)
