25th Anniversary Flies the World: Egypt
Step back in time to 1979 when Simon Groom, Christopher Wenner and Tina Heath explored one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World-the Pyramids. In blistering temperatures of 100°F, Simon nearly made it to the top of the biggest of the three pyramids at Giza near Cairo, while Tina kept cool inside the burial chamber of the Pharaoh Cheops, Chris dived to the bottom of the Red Sea with an underwater camera and Simon joined the long line of Blue Peter presenters who've bitten the sands of the desert, thrown from the back of a bad-tempered camel.

2: When the Trees Bow Down
Although thousands of people visit the New Forest each year to admire the many varieties of trees that cover 30,000 acres, they probably don't realise that over half of the woodland is used for commercial growing.
Today Dennis Skillicorn meets RODNEY NEWBOROUGH , one of the Forestry Commission men responsible for marketing the timber. He also speaks to CLIFF FENNELL , a forester who works all year round cutting the timber. But all the wood doesn't find its way into the pulp and sawmills. GRETA HOPKIN-SON from Brockenhurst finds a different use for it: she spends her life searching for interesting pieces of wood to shape into beautiful wood sculptures. ' No art form has influenced me; I've been influenced purely by the wood.'

For all those who flew in them the flying boat was a part of aviation history that was unique and unforgettable. In this first programme David Lomax tells of the early days when Britain's first flying boat landed on the Solent in 1913, of First World War patrols in the North Sea and of RAF long-distance pioneering flights to open up routes to the Empire.
