Frank Bough, Selina Scott and Nick Ross invite you to wake up with Britain's first breakfast television programme.

Every weekday morning in the Breakfast Time studio they talk to the stars and personalities making the day's news.

The programme will be relaxed and informal, but news both national and local, current affairs, sport, weather and traffic information will all be essential ingredients in the breakfast menu - which will be repeated regularly to fit in with your morning timetable.

On every hour and half-hour Debbie Rix will bring you the news that has developed overnight.

At quarter-past and quarter-to the hour your own regional studios nationwide report the local news, traffic and weather for your area.

The national weather comes regularly from Breakfast Time's own weatherman, Francis Wilson, who will make his forecast for the day with the help of advanced new animating colour satellite pictures.

David Icke reports with the latest sports news and pictures.

Plus the regular Breakfast Time features: Diana Moran, 'The Green Goddess', sets off on her mission to get Britain fit; Russell Grant, astrologer extraordinary, predicts the day ahead; and Chris Wilson contributes with his gossip column of the air. And this first week Britain at Breakfast, a series of live outside broadcasts which visit parts of Britain where the day's work has long since started.

The Opren Scandal
Presented by Fred Emery 2: Selling the Product
Last week's Panorama showed how evidence of the serious side-effects of the new anti-arthritis drug, Opren, was suppressed or ignored even after people using it had begun to die. This week's investigation reveals how much money is at stake in the arthritis business and how hard-sales policies have dangerous side-effects of their own. Tom Mangold reports on the close relationships between drug companies and their most important customers - the doctors; on the inadequacies in the regulations that should protect patients from the conflict of interests that can arise.

On a torrid day in August 1972 three gunmen burst into a Brooklyn bank intent on a quick and easy robbery. But the heist goes wrong and the robbers are besieged in the bank with the employees as hostages.
In this gripping, funny, sometimes grotesque, true story, Al Pacino gives one of his best performances as the ringleader who staged the hold-up to finance a sex change operation for his male lover.
