Happy Feet 8.30pm BBC1
The inspiration for this humorous film, set in Yorkshire in 1960, came from writer/director Mike Bradwell's childhood. His sister was a ballet dancer and he was taken along when her dancing school entered competitions, usually in seaside resorts. 'It became a family holiday for us,' he says. Happy Feet follows the fortunes of Dora Jackson (Phyllis Logan, far left) and the children from her dancing school as they and other teachers (Mandy More, Linda Jane Holmes and Ruth Holden), battle with arch rivals the Pybus School from York.
