9.10pm BBC1 When new casualty officer Dr Beth Ramanee joined the regulars at Holby General Hospital at the beginning of the fifth series (currently being repeated), she was forced to adapt quickly to the hectic pace and pressure of life in the casualty unit. In tonight's episode, the young doctor's suspicions are aroused about the injuries suffered by a child removed from the hospital by its mother. Ramanee is played by Mamta Kaash (below), winner of the Best Actress Award at the 1988 Cannes Television Festival for her part in the BBC drama Salaam Shalom. She is currently working on the new series of Casualty, to be shown in the autumn.
