All the goals and key moments from the day's Premiership games, including highlights of the match at Old Trafford between Manchester United and Aston Villa. On New Year's Day in 1996 Manchester United lost 4-1 at Tottenham, their heaviest defeat of the season.
They followed that game with a 12-match unbeaten run in the Premiership that knocked Newcastle off the top of the table. Alex Ferguson's team will be looking for a similar run, but a lot will depend on whether Eric Cantona can rediscover the form that helped Manchester United to their second league and Cup double last season.
Aston Villa were seen as championship contenders at the start of the season, but a lack of firepower up front has so far undermined their challenge. Commentators are Jon Champion, Barry Davies and Tony Gubba. Introduced by Desmond Lynam with Trevor Brooking.
