10.05pm BBC1 A new moon means new romance for widow-in-love Cher when she falls for Nicolas Cage, in Norman Jewison's much-acclaimed romantic comedy. But the movie also signalled an end to Cher's struggle for recognition as an actress when she struck gold, alongside best supporting actress Olympia Dukakis, and won an Oscar for her performance as the wisecracking Loretta. After receiving Hollywood's ultimate accolade, Cher returned to her first love - singing - and two hit singles later, she is the undisputed queen of the comeback.
