Tony Spawforth investigates the lost Egyptian city of Amama, which was built by the revolutionary king Akhenaten. The Pharaoh constructed the city as a homage to Aten, the god of the sun. and encouraged followers to worship just one deity. But the city was annihilated after his death, destroying his dream of beautiful villas in a huge desert landscape. Remains of the city have been discovered this century, but Akhenaten has been virtually erased from Egyptian history despite the fame of his son, boy king Tutankhamen.

In 1967, when a low-budget picture about two Depression-era, gun-toting outlaws was released on a sensation-seeking audience, the film became one of the biggest movies of its time. Arthur Penn's Bonnie and Clyde shocked the establishment but sparked a youth-culture phenomenon and reshaped attitudes towards Hollywood film-making. Here, the people who made it happen - including star and producer Warren Beatty, and the director - discuss the film's origins, impact and influence.
