David Vine covers the years 1983-9, a time when the game was dominated by one man - Steve Davis, who managed to secure six world titles and was involved in some of the most dramatic matches ever seen in the history of the championship. Cliff Thorburn's historic 147 maximum break is also remembered, along with the first appearance of a 17-year-old prodigy from Scotland - Stephen Hendry.
