Caraline's Story
Caraline is an intelligent 29-year-old woman, who weighs three and a half stone and knows that she is dying from chronic anorexia and bulimia. As a child she was brutalised by her mother and sexually abused by her father, who is now in prison for the crime.
The physical toll includes diabetes, loss of teeth, enlarged heart, gangrene and kidney disease. " If I was slim as a shadow," she says, "nobody would be able to hurt me any more. If I stand sideways as an anorexic I can just about fit. If stand face on I take up too much space, I'm not bitter, I'm just hurting. I'm dying of anorexia and child abuse."
In this film we share the agony of her starving and bingeing, as she talks about her horrific childhood and her subsequent rejection of adulthood.
