[text removed] is a 16-year-old schoolgirl from near Dhaka in Bangladesh. At the age of ten, she was kidnapped, raped, and ultimately ended up in Pakistan against her will. Hers is just one tragedy among many thousands. In what has become known as the 'flesh trade', an estimated 100 to 150 Bangladeshi girls and women are lured to Pakistan every month. Some are enticed in the hope of a better future but the majority are taken against their will. Most are then bought and forced to 'marry' Pakistani men.
Neither the Pakistani nor the Bangladeshi government seems to be tackling the problem. East investigates. Producer Farah Durrani
