In Ghana Coffins there is a new way of easing the grief that surrounds a burial: coffins are flamboyantly shaped according to the occupation of the deceased. So a taxi driver goes to the cemetery in a wooden taxi, a fisherman in a boat, a grandmother in a large speckled hen. Ghana's coffin-makers are doing a good business.
And in Our God the Condor some Andean villagers capture a condor to do ritual battle with a bull. The condor symbolises the free spirit of the native Andeans, the bull the once-conquering
Spaniards. The villagers believe their future fortunes depend on the condor's safe return to the skies.
