A series of seven films presented by David Jessel.

Joshua [text removed] was born with severe brain damage caused by listeria. He is now blind, and unlikely ever to walk unaided. His parents Bill and Vivien argue that they should have been warned earlier about the danger from listeria in cheeses and cook-chilled foods. Too late for Joshua, a Government Food Hazard Warning was issued a year ago - but many pregnant women are still not getting the advice they need to prevent and treat listeriosis.

Further On Up the Road
Su Pollard visits a pub off the Lane because she loves the atmosphere. But soon, they say, it will be like San Francisco, 'sweet as candy, with cobbled streets and fake gas lamps'.
Charlie Brandt , a local artist, thinks it is a travesty; the Harvey sisters know what happened in Wapping -
'outsiders have taken over'.
Even Richard MacCormac , architect of the Spitalfields development scheme, has reservations about the changes. Jocasta Innes browses Brick Lane market before it is too late and Penny, the transvestite and artist's model, is on the overnight train bound for the Edinburgh Festival, oblivious to it all. Five films on the relationship between design and the senses. 5: Smell
Air conditioning removes odours from office and home; microwave cooking deprives our kitchens of most food smells. But smell can return to us in other ways: in the design of scents and soaps; in museums like York's Viking Centre; as group therapy with old people; and in the treatment of coma patients.
