Until 1973, seven Yorkes had been squires of Erddig. Each had added to a unique collection of treasures at Erddig, near Wrexham in north Wales. Philip Yorke lived there alone, struggling to prevent the house from collapsing. Had it collapsed, a legend would have vanished with it. In this film he describes the legend and tells how his lifelong dream was to be fulfilled. Executive producer JENNIFER JEREMY

In the second of three programmes, Nigel Farrell meets the octogenarian who believes it's never too late to make it big in showbiz; the frustrated inventors whose brilliant ideas should have made them household names; and the villagers who find an unusual fame in the cricketing almanacs by taking to the hallowed turf of Lord's.
