In AD360 a Roman gentleman farmer commissioned a mosaic for the private chapel of his country house. The famous Orpheus mosaic was accidentally discovered in the 18th century. Lost for
250 years, it was only found again in 1977 and has been restored by the present owner of the Littlecote
