Just 40 years ago building started on a hill overlooking Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire to create a new university which would embody the spirit of post-war educational optimism. But how has the University of Keele, the 'dream on the hill', fared in the cost-conscious 80s? Jessica Pemberton
(student), Caroline Hackney (research scientist) and Chris Pike (Russian Studies lecturer) use tonight's Open Space to make their own films expressing their beliefs in the value of the University and their concerns about the threats to higher education hovering on the horizon from Government policies.
