First of seven programmes Vegetables and Salads
Newspaper descriptions so far range from 'the best double act since Morecambe and Wise' to 'sizzling with sauce' and 'it makes you wonder how they ever managed to work together'. Albert and Michel Roux , world-famous chefs who own and run the award-winning restaurants Le Gavroche in London and the Waterside Inn at Bray, return to cast an appraising eye over a selection of vegetables.
They give away a few tricks of the trade by showing how something as ordinary as a mushroom or tomato may be turned into something more decorative.
Albert takes potatoes and courgettes and transforms them into pommes de terre darphin, and Michel makes a delicious potato pie.

A monthly anthology of travel, exploration and adventure - worldwide.
Introduced by John Ridgway. Tonight, two films about polar disasters. Frozen in Time
In 1846, two ships of the Royal Navy and 129 men were searching for the Northwest Passage. They disappeared without trace. In 1986, two bodies were found - preserved in the ice. The mystery of the Franklin expedition begins to unfold. South with Shackleton
A film shot in 1915 during the Antarctic adventure of Endurance and her crew.
For ten months they drifted, trapped in the southern ice.
Finally, the ship was crushed and sank - in front of one of the earliest expedition cameras. The crew's final escape, many months later, is one of the greatest stories of seamanship and courage. Producer RICHARD ROBINSON Series editor TIM SLESSOR (R) revised
