Motor Racing: German Grand Prix
Hockenheim has hosted the German race since 1977, save for a nostalgic return to the Nurburg ring in 1985. Indeed it was James Hunt who really brought the curtain down on the old circuit when he won there in 76 - not that it was all his fault, you understand. Like Silverstone, Hockenheim is very, very fast. Murray and James Will no doubt concur.

Cricket: Refuge Assurance League: Leicestershire v Yorkshire
If Phil de Freitas isn't on duty for England (if not - why not? they cry at Grace Road, and elsewhere) and Paul Jarvis is fit and well, these are the shapes of things rapidly coming.

The story of a family of Scottish ospreys. with Bob Langley and Roy Dennis
Throughout the summer a video camera has spied on an osprey nest in the Highlands of Scotland and revealed marvellously intimate views of the family life of these rare birds of prey. Protected by their mother, and provided with food by the cock - an ace fisherman - the fluffy chicks are transformed into magnificent birds which will shortly head for West Africa. concludes a season of films starring the versatile American actor. Tonight with Sam Waterston
In this modem-day western, Jack and Cecil are a couple of drifters still hankering for the old values. They prefer to rustle cattle and live off their wits - despite the law.
When Rancher Brown - most powerful of the Montana cattlemen - declares war on all rustlers, the boys are his prime targets. But he reckons without their ingenuity as they 'kidnap' Brown's prize bull....
