Prix Jeunesse Award Winner 1982 with Isla St Clair
Farmers and Fishermen
Isla returns to Findochty, a tiny fishing village in the North of Scotland, to tell the stories and sing the songs of farmers and fisherfolk among whom she grew up. She discovers that a fishergirl would think nothing of gutting 20,000 herring a day, and that a ploughman and his horse would have walked 11 miles by the time they had ploughed three-quarters of an acre.

The feature film starring

The feature film version of Arthur Hailey's best-selling novel is a powerful suspense story of a life-and-death drama set in an international airport.

In the face of the worst blizzard in 30 years, dedicated airport-manager Mel Bakersfeld battles to keep the runways clear and the 'planes on schedule, well aware that his high-voltage workstyle is burning up his marriage. Mel's brother-in-law, crack pilot Vernon Demerest, also has problems in his private life but he forgets them when he discovers that he has a dangerous psychotic aboard his aeroplane. As Mel and his men struggle to the limits of endurance to overcome a long line of emergencies, a crisis explodes thousands of feet above.
