The World About Us, this week, joins Dr Robert Liddell as he pilots his small aircraft out of Jandakot Base, near Perth, on a medical' round' that will take him from the Indian Ocean to the fringe of the Gibson Desert, during which he visits the tiny communities and isolated homesteads for which the only medical help can come from the sky.

In 1935, the most flamboyant and controversial US senator of the decade was shot in the State capital. His name was Huey P. Long and his nickname - Kingfish.
This finely acted film re-creates the last three years of the senator's life, examining the motivations of his assassin and his career which had made him enemies in both Louisiana- the state of which he was governor - and Washington.
