Ludovic Kennedy introduces a special weekend of programmes which illustrate how the Poles are beginning to see the truth about their country and its history through films and television.
Tonight, a special showing of Workers 80. This moving documentary was shot behind the locked gates of the Gdansk shipyards last August. It provides a unique record of the dramatic negotiations between Lech Walesa and government officials, which led to the launching of Solidarity. Officially the film does nnt exist. Unofficially millions of Poles have seen it in clubs and cinemas ' occupied ' for the day.
