The second of a series of seven programmes. 2: Pat
Sloper
Pat Sloper 's second child,
[text removed], now 14, was born with spina bifida, heralding years of suffering for the whole family. But when she conceived again, medical science could tell her whether or not this baby was handicapped. Pat faced the possibility of deciding on either an abortion or years of suffering with another handicapped child. In tonight's programme she talks about facing up to her decision and the good that is beginning to come from her family's suffering.
