Mexican Madness
The story of the Rio Balsas Power Boat Marathon
The State of Guerrero is one of the most arid and beautiful in Mexico. Once a year the canyons and the river are shattered by the roar of power boats.
Visiting crews from all over the world send their 600 hp jet boats snarling down the rapids at 70 miles an hour. Some leap over the rocks; some slam into them and sink: £4,000-worth of boat lost in a few seconds. The 400-mile race lasts five days and passes through rapids and canyons, lakes and open sea...
The Rio Balsas is much more than just a river race - it is a journey through Mexico.

Sixth in a series of seven films about artists today. Julio Le Pare
Through his abstract paintings, kinetic machines, and the use of games, cartoons and an Anti-car, LE PARC challenges the accepted Art Gallery Market, which he regards as an elitist system, where one social artistic group has given itself the power to decide whats best for everyone else.
He takes his art on to the streets to have a direct contact with the Public and hopes many will follow him.
