The John Player League featuring
Nottinghamshire v Gloucestershire The name Clive Rice of Nottinghamshire figured prominently in last year's batting statistics.
During the course of the season he scored two double centuries and went on to top the first class batting averages. In 1977 he established a new record of 814 runs for a season in The John Player League. Gloucestershire's task today looks formidable indeed.

This is the first televised performance of the famous Munich Production.
Set in Vienna, the story revolves around the conflicting loves of a Young boy, Octavian. He is the lover of Field-Marshal Werden berg's wife, the Marschallin. Her cousin. Baron Ochs, is betrothed to a young girl, Sophie, and needs an ambassador to carry the traditional silver rose as token of his betrothal. The Marschallin nominates Octavian as Knight of the Rose. Octavian delivers the rose and immediately falls in love with Sophie....
