A film portrait of the singer
Kathleen Ferrier (1912-1953) with Winifred Ferrier
Benjamin Britten , John Barbirolll Peter Pears , Gerald Moore
Twenty-five years ago KATHLEEN FERRIER , one of the best-loved of British singers, died. In this film, made ten years ago, her friends and colleagues recall her brief career and remember her tremendous personality.
Since it was first shown, some of the participants have also died, so the film is not only a portrait of the singer but a picture of a section of British musical life just before and after World War II.
Executive producer JOHN CULSHAW
Written and directed by JOHN DRUMMOND .
