The John Player League Gloucestershire v Essex
Essex, who were so narrowly beaten into second place last season, have had a very unhappy start this year, losing points to the weather rather than their opponents.
Gloucestershire, with players of the calibre of Mike Procter and the very much in-form Alistair Hignell available, will want to show well during this their cricket festival week.
PETER WALKER introduces the programme which includes news of today's other fixtures:
Kent v Sussex
Leicestershire v Yorkshire
Northamptonshire v Worcestershire Somerset v Lancashire
Surrey v Nottinghamshire Warwickshire v Middlesex

Mr Beesley 's Secret Garden
The semi-detached suburban garden belonging to John and Valerie Beesley in Bristol was filmed for two years by specialist cameramen - it is a safari down their garden path that is full of surprises: where strange creatures swim on the surface of leaves, where wasps hatch from the mummified bodies of aphids and fox cubs gambol on the lawn.
After this exploration of the way your garden grows and the way its inhabitants struggle for survival, it will never seem the same again. Narrated by BARRY PAINE

Another chance to see this film about the extraordinary rock star David Bowie to coincide with a series of sell-out concerts in Britain this month.
"I am an actor, I play parts, fragments of myself."
When we filmed Bowie in Hollywood he was discarding the elaborate costume and make-up of his legendary character Ziggy Stardust to assume a new, more enigmatic role.
"Fabulous" (Time Out) "A fascinating film" (London Evening News) "The film that made David Bowie a film star." (The Guardian)
