A light aircraft is missing in the mountains of British Columbia. Five men on board. If they are alive, they must be found before they freeze to death and it's snowing hard. 442 Search and Rescue Squadron set out to save them. One problem follows another as the aircraft search an area half the size of Wales, between mountains three times as high as Snowdon.
A helicopter carrying a millionaire is lost in a dense forest of 100ft trees. A fisherman is overboard in the Pacific. Someone is so badly burned in an explosion that only a desperate race can save his life. 442 is a military squadron that flies to save lives. This is their story.

The Challenge of Success
As a prelude to the forthcoming competition for young conductors organised by the Rupert Founda tion in collaboration with the BBC, tonight's Lively Arts offers a second chance to see the film of the last Rupert Competition, held in 1976. Then BBC cameras covered the competition over the course of a week, leading up to the final test - a public concert at the Fairfield Hall, Croydon. ' Now that the competition is over', said the winner,
* the real test begins. I have to prove that I was worthy of the prize. In the future, at every new concert, I have to compete with my own success'.

Featuring the rediscovered work of amateur cameramen and ' home-movie ' makers of the 20s and 30s. Introduced by James Cameron
Just before the outbreak of World War II, Mr F. C. Hynard (now aged 95) made a film record of life in the village of Eynsford, in Kent. Here are the Women's Institute costume play on the castle lawn, the church fete, the cricket match, the much-loved village characters and the less-loved weekend motorists and ramblers. This personal view is accompanied by a lively commentary delivered by Mr Hynard himself.

starring Nicol Williamson
'In more than three and a half centuries there have been no more than a dozen great Hamlets. Everyone who is alive today has the rare and illuminating privilege of seeing one of them -Nicol Williamson,' wrote the Time magazine drama critic when the film opened in New York.
This screen version of Shakespeare's tragedy was shot on stage at the Round House, but the use of sustained close-ups against a chiaroscuro background accentuates a dramatic departure from the traditional rendering.
