They Should be Here

An affectionate tribute to the life and work of the American humorist and poet, Ogden Nash.
Performed by Dinsdale Landen Prunella Scales and Clive Swift Introduced and narrated by Robert Robinson
At another year I would not boggle Except that when I jo I joggle.
The problems of growing old was one of OGDEN NASH'S favourite subjects, along with courtship, marriage, parents and children, animals, the agonies of modern life.
Nash, 1902-1971, is one of America's most quoted of poets, famous for his wit and tortuous rhymes:
I could not love New York so much Loved I not Baltimore.
In this programme, Nash's poems are read before an invited audience in the studio and there are reminiscences on film, from Nash's wife Frances, his daughters Linell and Isabel, and his friends and colleagues Albert Hackett , Cornwell Jackson and Milton Rosenstock.
