A series in five parts by Elaine Morgan
1886: Marya Sklodowska is a governess on a country estate outside Warsaw. Her hope is to save enough money to study science but, as a woman, her only hope of doing this is to follow her elder sister to France. But there are both financial and personal problems to overcome first.
