No polar region, no jungle, no desert, no ocean, no mountain has seemed too remote or too inaccessible. No tribe, no animal, no bird, no exotic plant has escaped their attention - or so it seems.
Wild Dogs of Africa, The People of the Seal, The Bay of Whales, Jacques Cousteau's The Night of the Squid, The Romance of Indian Railways, were all programmes - and journeys - to remember.
A compilation which recalls moments of achievement and risk; excitement and danger; discovery and despair.

With them in the studio, a specially invited group of television personalities, producers, writers and viewers.
It has been calculated that between the ages of five and 65 an average person in this country will spend nearly seven whole years sitting in front of a television set. What effect does all this viewing have on us? Has it changed the way we live and think? Has it had an influence on the way we vote? Has it had an impact on our children?
