Do you tell an active teenager he has cancer? If his mother forbids his doctor to reveal the truth should the doctor comply? As medicine becomes increasingly complex doctors are constantly facing ethical questions like this and often have difficulty in answering them. Some hospitals suggest bringing together social workers, psychiatrists and even lawyers and philosophers to help the doctor.

8:Almost Beyond Price
Introduced by Christopher Roads A series of ten programmes
' A best English gun ' is much more than a mere description of a type of gun. It is a highly prized achievement of modern craftsmen who still work in the traditions established over centuries. Months and sometimes years of patient application to the working of wood and metal elevates such a gun from the realms of ordinary arms manufacture to the true art of the gunmaker-which is the rare ability to combine mechanical perfection with high artistic embellishment.
