The last in a series of programmes to mark 40 years of BBCtv
David Frost introduces a programme examining the impact of television on our lives, with Sir Huw Wheldon, former Managing Director of BBC Television, Lord Briggs, the historian of British broadcasting, and John Whale of The Sunday Times and from America Fred W. Friendly and Barbara Walters.
With them in the studio, a specially invited group of television personalities, producers, writers and viewers.
It has been calculated that between the ages of five and 65 an average person in this country will spend nearly seven whole years sitting in front of a television set. What effect does all this viewing have on us? Has it changed the way we live and think? Has it had an influence on the way we vote? Has it had an impact on our children?
