The Insect World of Dr Lee Written and narrated by Anthony Smith Taiwan is 100 miles off the main-land of China and has a hot moist climate suitable for an amazing variety of insects; there is even a thriving industry that markets butterfly wings by the millions.
Dr Sung-Yang Lee is an entomologist and amateur film maker much more concerned with the beauty of live insects. For eight years he has been filming the insects of Taiwan and grappling with problems like photographing the tiny natural light produced by a firefly. For Dr Lee all this was a labour of love which took his life savings, all his spare time and endless patience.
