Match number 12 of the World Cup - Scotland v Brazil - was played at the Waldstadion in Frankfurt on 18 June before 62,000 spectators. They were joined through television by an audience of hundreds of millions throughout the world. The effect of this one match was recorded on that day by 16 film crews scattered through seven countries. The cast includes surfers in Rio, Billy Bremner , a Yugoslavian peasant and his family, Scots fans in Glasgow, and television technicians in Geneva, London, Brussels and Frankfurt - all brought together because 22 men kicked a polka-dot ball around.
