Tonight Dr Edward Teller presents his views on the Peaceful Use of Nuclear Explosives

Can nuclear explosives that made their appearance in world history as a terrible weapon, be used constructively and peacefully? Dr Teller, who contributed more than anyone to the development of the H-bomb, thinks they can. He presents such uses as harbour excavation in Australia and natural gas storage in the North Sea as a potential task for stockpiled H-bombs and discusses his ideas with half a dozen scientists who question the safety of such uses and the need for them.
