Tonight the first film in the BBC's special three-part tribute to the great French actor.
Starring Fernandel
with Jacqueline Bouvier, Raymond Pellegrin

'Fernandel's finest performance,' was how the critics described Nais when it was first released in France.
Written and partly directed by Marcel Pagnol and based on the novel Nais Micoulin by Emile Zola, it tells the story of a hunch-back deeply in love with a farmer's daughter who is forced to watch her fall for the charms of the local landowner's son.
