Dan Arbeid has been making pottery since 1956. He also teaches at the Central School of Art in London. In this film, while making, glazing and firing his pots, he talks about his work in his studio, a converted Victorian school house at Wendens Ambo in Essex.

...declares Norman Morrice, the young artistic director of the Ballet Rambert, who has set himself the challenge, for the 1970s, of building up a new tradition of modern dancing for the Rambert, for years a strictly classical company. The challenge involves not only re-educating the dancers but finding a new, young audience that will respond to these unfamiliar and exciting forms of ballet. "Nowadays", says Morrice, "we go out into the streets to look for our costumes, our images and our movements".

After the captivating mystery of L'Avventura, Antonioni directed this perceptive, subtle and utterly unsentimental account of the gradual disillusionment and compromise which leads to a broken marriage. Jeanne Moreau's compelling personality dominates the film, and Monica Vitti (the vivacious star of Antonioni's later films) and Marcello Mastroianni are overshadowed by her performance.
