The artist John Christie sent the writer
John Berger a square of colour with the sentence "I send you this cadmium red. Berger replied by writing about seeing "the red of innocence.... the sun seen through closed eyes and fingers." And so began a correspondence that included lists, poetry, art history, memories and musings. This programme extends Berger and Christie's musings into a third medium - sound - with original music composed and performed by Gavin Bryars and his quartet.

Verity Sharp presents a concert given by Beast (Birmingham Electro-Acoustic Sound Theatre), featuring works by Canadian composer and champion of acousmatic music, Francis Dhomont.
