Orchestra's traditional new year concert of music by the Strauss family, their friends and their rivals, live from the Golden Hall of Vienna's Musikverein. Lorin Maazel conducts works by Franz von Suppe and Josef Hellmesberger (son), as well as all the old favourites from Vienna's top dance dynasty, including the waltzes Tales from the Vienna Woods and From the Beautiful, Blue Danube, and the Pizzicato Polka by Johann Strauss (son).
