David Mellor explores the recorded legacy of great artists of the past in conversation with distinguished figures from the musical world today. Rachmaninov's battles for recognition as a composer have been won, but tastes have changed enough for his once unassailable status as a performer to be questioned. With excerpts from recordings featuring Rachmaninov.
