Sebastian Coe 's 16-year-old world record. The men's 200m final is likely to feature Namibia's Olympic silver medallist Frankie Fredericks and Trinidad's Olympic bronze medallist Ato Boldon. The reigning World and Olympic champion, Michael Johnson , won't defend the title he won in Gothenburg, preferring to concentrate on the 400m, but Jamaica's Merlene Otteywill defend herwomen's 200m crown.
This afternoon's key events include at
4.45 the men's triple-jump final, at 5.05 the women's 200m final, at 5.20 the men's 200m final, at 5.40 the men's 800m final and at 6.00 the women's
400m hurdles final in which 1993 world champion Sally Gunnell hopes to claim a medal. Continued on BBC2.
