Last year's race entered the gallery of sporting disasters
_ when the starting procedure failed twice, but a new mechanism to set off the world's s most prestigious steeplechase passed its November trial without a hitch.
The most disappointed man on that day was jockey John White , who thought he'd won on Esha Ness until learning that the race was void. If the horse recovers from a tendon injury in time, White and Esha Ness will be reunited today.
