These web-footed, hairy, hippo-like creatures live in the cattle-ranch region in the west of the country. Cameras follow the adventures of a "swamp hog" family of several females and their accident-prone brood. As their swamp slowly dries to arid land, the beasts reveal an unexpectedly resourceful side to their character.
