Sue Barker introduces live coverage from Paris of the women's singles final in the French Open championship. Last year's final followed the Roland Garros stadium's tradition for throwing up surprises, with teenager Iva Majoli becoming the lowest seed to win the title since 1933, thwarting Martina Hingis's bid to win every Grand Slam event in 1997. Hingis will be doubly determined to capture this year's crown, as this is the only major prize which has thus far eluded her grasp. John Barrett and Virginia Wade are in the commentary box.

Continuing coverage from Edgbaston of the third day's play in the first of five Tests between England and South Africa.

Pace bowler Allan Donald will be in the vanguard of South Africa's attack on the pitch where he plays for Warwickshire, and with England perhaps having the edge in the batting department, this should be a riveting match.

The commentators are Richie Benaud, Chris Broad, David Gower, Barry Richards, with reporting by Simon Hughes. Introduced by Tony Lewis.

Christina Smith is one of Britain's least flamboyant millionaires, the owner of a large portfolio of property who set the trends for living in warehouses and establishing ethnic craft shops in the sixties. She has done much to try to prevent the destruction of central London's Covent Garden area by the developers, but now feels disturbed by the way of life that she helped to inspire.

Ballet aficionados celebrate the life and achievements of Edris Stannus, the inspirational Irish dancer known as "Madam" who was born 100 years ago today. A graduate of Diaghilev's Ballets Russes, as Ninette de Valois she founded the Royal Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet and the Royal Ballet School, and sent her disciples to foreign climes to instigate other such ventures.

In this programme three contemporary ballet stars - Darcey Bussell, Joseph Cipolla and Sarah WiIdor - rehearse roles from Madam's works The Prospect before Us and The Gods Go A-Begging. There is also archive footage of Madam herself which illuminates her teaching and rehearsing methods, as she practises steps from the Rake's Progress and Checkmate.

In this special edition of the current-affairs reportage series, Kate Adie travels to Indonesia to witness life in the aftermath of President Suharto's recent resignation. She chronicles his demise, and talks to some of the students who helped bring about the situation.

After the initial euphoria which greeted the end of the ageing despot's 32-year reign, Adie reports on the power vacuum in the midst of a perhaps unfinished revolution.

She also considers the potential economic and political backlash which could further compound an economy still in deep crisis.
