After the Flood
Urgent and fundamental questions need to be answered following the flooding of the Mississippi River last year, the worst in its history. Because the ; potential results of floods on the river are catastrophic, the prevention controls on the Mississippi are among the most rigorous in the world, and yet disaster still happened. One of the main questions is whether structures used to control flooding actually make matters worse.
In Bangladesh one of the most ambitious flood control projects ever conceived is about to get underway, hence the urgency. As this Horizon film
I shows, engineers mustfind the correct answers before
Bangladesh embarks on what could be the wrong course. Producer Betlina Lemer
