Shortly before his death last February, the great scientist Richard Feynman told "Horizon" the story of his ten-year fascination with Tannu Tuva, a Shangri-La on the edge of Mongolia, which very few westerners have ever seen.

From Tuva came strange and beautiful stamps. Here, 'the reindeer and the camel are neighbours', and nomads perform a weird type of harmonic throat-singing which, once heard, is never forgotten. Feynman also talks about his role in identifying the cause of the Space Shuttle disaster, and his love of deciphering Mayan hieroglyphics.

He plays the bongos, too.
