Anti-racist and multicultural education have become targets for the sensational headline hunter.
Yet across the country there are local authorities working quietly to promote tolerance, understanding and racial equality.
In Stratford-upon-Avon, primary children are busy learning about Indian music and dance. In secondary schools, science from other countries is being explored. It is part of Warwickshire's policy to take multicultural education to all its schools. Producer STACEY ADAMS Editor PETER RIDING (e)
Presented by David Jessel The parole system is under fire. With 50,000 people in prison, critics say parole is merely a convenient way of reducing overcrowding.
Early release, often only a third of the way into a sentence, makes a mockery of the judge's decision.
Prisoners are also unhappy: to them parole is 'prison roulette' - a lengthy, arbitrary and secret process with no appeal. Out of Court follows three men in prison and on parole.

Children of the Open Road
Catrine Clay reports on an alarming story in a clean and ordered land.
Hundreds of children were taken away from their parents and disappeared.
They were gypsy children - targets of Pro Juventute , Switzerland's leading children's charity. For 50 years the organisation's aim was to turn these children into good Swiss citizens. But for many, the result was pain and suffering.
Teresa Grossman had five children taken from her, one by one. After 20 years of trying to trace them, it was too late. Marietta Mehr was five when she was first given electric shock treatment.
She'd been taken from her mother as a baby. She, in turn, had her own baby taken from her.
For people like Teresa and Mariella, 'there was no other solution'. Voices SARAH
