The Undoing of a Parapsychologist
In 1976 Susan Blackmore became a parapsychologist. She threw herself into ESP and the occult, convinced that proof of the paranormal was just around the corner. Now, Dr Sue Blackmore looks back on her work and asks whether all scientific study of parapsychology is doomed.

Dead Wrong?
There is currently a high diagnostic error rate, claim two pathologists after examining the causes of death among hospital patients. 'Fairly certain' major diagnoses are wrong a quarter of the time, claims another.
It seems that potentially treatable illness in as many as one in seven patients may be missed by doctors.
Pathologist Dr Chris Elston, administrator of Nottingham City Hospital, believes this is unacceptable and suggests ways that diagnostic accuracy could be improved.
