A Forty Minutes documentary film
Among 19,000 photographs submitted by proud mothers and fathers throughout the British Isles is the picture of one little girl, between the age of three and nine, who is destined to win the coveted title 'Miss Pears'.
A panel of beauty experts will choose her on the basis of a photograph alone for her natural freshness, beauty and innocence. Hers will be the face that embodies the year's advertising campaign.
The finalists have spent two days in London while the judges are making up their minds. On the morning of the third day at Claridges, the little girl will be revealed whose success will delight her mummy and daddy, whose face will launch a thousand posters and whose natural photogenic potential will bring into her piggy bank a cheque for £1,000.

from Sale, Manchester with Geoff Hamilton and Clay Jones Thelma Kay is an enthusiastic plantswoman travelling around the world collecting plants and growing them back home.
Her garden is now regularly open to the public, boasting a wide range of rare and interesting plants growing in a variety of conditions - alpine, peat and herbaceous beds together with a vegetable plot.
Yet this garden in the suburbs of Manchester is only 400 square yards, proving that even a typically small patch can, with skill and enthusiasm, become a plant paradise.

2: Waiting for Miracles
'It's always daunting to revisit one's own past in one's own words. Time is a terrible teacher. Either it gives you a little pat on the back or a terrific kick up the backside. I took the chance of doing both. I found it curious, and enlightening, the huge difference the last years had made to some things-and how little difference to others.' James Cameron goes from Berlin, Venice, Cyprus, Israel and Notting Hill, to an alcoholics' home in southern England.
